Hey guys,

trying not to waste anymore of your time here but I'm trying to get an idea of what else I need.

I decided to go with this kit.

Comes with almsot everything I need, including a manual.

So on top of this I am going to order a scale and calipers.

Is their a specific size die I need for this press?

I understand I need a tumbler, what should I use for media?

Is there anything else I'm missing?

It's a Rock Chucker Supreme Master kit, there was too many http// in his link. I just got one from Budget, but I haven't even set it up yet. Still need to order a case trimmer but other than that I think it's complete. I already had some calipers...
 
Sorry if the link is messed up I am using my phone. It is the rock chucker I just want to know what else I will need.
 
An excellent kit, as mentioned you will need a case trimmer with my preference being a Forster as there are many accessories for it. A caliper is also needed, you can get an adequate one a C-tire for a reasonable price. All dies meant for presses have the same threads so any of the major brands will do. A lot of people are going for the more expensive Redding S dies but I have had good luck with RCBS ,Hornady and Lee collet dies. A tumbler is nice but not really necessary so if you want by all means get one, I use Lyman green corncob media.

I agree . . . a tumbler is not absolutely necessary. If your cases are reasonably clean (and have not been in the dirt) a quick wipe with a clean rag is all that is necessary. It gets awfully tedious though and hard on the hands if you're going to process lots of cases.

Do you know where the best place for me to order one of these case trimmers is?

Also, can you buy media locally? I noticed most of the online retailers dont sell media to go with their tumblers.

I also have the Rock Chucker Supreme Kit.

I would add;
Digital calipre
Dies and Shellholder for calibres you want
Redding Imperial Sizing Die wax case lube (RCBS works too but I like both)
Case Trimmer
Tumbler and Walnut Media, a $50 tumbler works just fine
Case/Media seperater for getting media out of cases after tumbling
Lyman 49th manual to supplement the nice Speer one in the kit


Most gun shops have media, and you can use corncob reptile bedding from pets stores.

SR777 Bench Rest Case Trimmer

I am going to try and buy a scale, callipers and media locally. I don't have any gun shops in my city, would hardware stores carry media? So walnut media is what I want?

I'm really confused about this whole walnut media thing... so I go into a pet store and ask for walnut media? or crushed walnuts? how fine? Won't the walnut eventually break down and leave a residue in the casings?
 
Yeah the name tumbler media would only be known in gun shops.
Walnut and Corncob come in a 5-10L jar.


Pet stores would sell corncob reptile bedding and it would look kinda like kitty litter in a big bag. They wouldn't know what it was referring to it as media.
