Final stages on an invention for Glock 17 Gen 4

A large number of companies are not interested in anything they didn't think up themselves. Being from Canada is even worse because we seem to have this weird idea nothing worthwhile can be invented here. I once had the CDN govt asking a US company about a design I built and had offered to the CDN military the year before. Super frustrating.

Well, we just have to show them that there is talent here too, on the north side of the border. It is weird in Canada because things are backward here with a lot of red tape, it is a small wonder that everyone talented is moving to the US. Everything is easier there, like funding your ideas, getting loans, sponsors and not to mention a huge market. We are moving down the road to countries like GB and Australia on gun laws but I am not talking about guns either. I had an idea about a whole new action for a semi-auto, how I'm supposed to do that here? Struggle is the name of the game. I have decided to make a provisional patent and let it out as soon as I see that it works on a real gun the way it suppose to.

If you really are gonna spend the money on a provisional, PM me and I'll give you the contact info for the guy who did my second patent. He is very familiar with firearms related stuff and way cheaper than a scum sucking lawyer.

Sent him an email. Where is he located? How did he do his work? Do you care to share about it? I mean you got your patent already so no harm done...:)

Ok, after much deliberation I decided to just release it into the public space, I talk the big talk, and it's time to walk the walk. If I really want to save lives I should not delay this invention in order to make stinkin' money after all you can't put a price on human life... Also, I have made slow progress during the last year or so because we all have lives and families to feed. I have been videotaping my progress so I can split it into episodes and make it more interesting while creating more content and building my audience. I mean, it's not going to be wham-bam in one video. I want to keep you in suspense for a bit...;)
 
So, a magnet worn on the trigger hand and it somehow releases a steel safety lock on the trigger? Interesting concept, and I sincerely hope you take this idea to it's conclusion and who knows, maybe you make millions of dollars and save lives!?

For me, I don't plan on getting into a wrestling match for my guns, so I kinda like that Glocks don't have safeties. Clear holster and its go time on the target, no switches to fiddle with.
 
my comments may sound acrimonious but it's my true feeling and I believe lots of others' too.
Why the heck do I trust my property to be messed around by a no-name, no-track-record stranger who cannot even legally own a pistol, and more importantly it's a restricted firearm and I have to trust you saying the modification will be perfectly legal? who will end up in jail if the modified version is illegal? what benefits do I get by taking such a huge risk?
From what I see, I take all the risk and gain 0 benefits. You take all the benefits without having any risks.

Nothing against you personally. But hell NOOOO! never will do that even if I were paid to, and urge nobody do that either.

Not sure how similar it is to your design but the Magna-Trigger looks to perform a similar function and has been around since the 1970s. This site has some more details.

The problem with this kind of "smart gun" or "safety pistol" is that the mechanism that prevents the gun being fired by anyone other than the owner can NEVER EVER EVER fail EVER. A moving part can't fail to move, it can't get stuck, it must always function properly under all conditions, no matter what the user does or does not do to the pistol over the course of years and years.

This is a VERY tall standard to climb. It is the Everest of problems. Which is why nobody makes such a gun or modifications to a gun.

No person who understands the physics of this problem will be willing to put their life on the line for some amorphous "safety" notion.

As a result, no police officer would ever accept such a device and no police department will be able to force such device upon its officers. It is a total non-starter.

I am not a police officer, but if I was I personally would not want to have to wear gloves to shoot my pistol. That would require police officers to wear gloves all the time while on duty, to be ready and not have to put gloves on when s*** hits the fan.
 
So what happens when the cop or whoever doesn't have the magnet on his hand and gets shot when he can't fire his pistol? This idea is stupid.

What happens when the LEO is wounded in his strong hand and needs to shoot weak handed? This idea is stupid on many levels.

The solution to LEO accidental discharges is TRAINING, TRAINING, TRAINING.
 
What a ridiculous idea.
It's like the ideas drunk guys get, sounds great when your loaded then sober up and realize it was a stupid idea.
This nonsense has zero chance of being adopted by anyone.
More than likely cost lives
 
I really really appreciate your feedback, the good with the bad, all I ask of you is to have a little patience. As for the gloves, it's a standard procedure now for officers to wear them since they deal with lots of people who might have drugs, needles in their pockets, or are HIV-positive, you can have this in both gloves so you can shoot with either hand. Again, it is not for civilian use since here in Canada we don't even have CCW or Open Carry. Love your comments though, I feel the warmth and support...I am not going to make millions since I am releasing it on youtube. Like "I Don't Care About You" said no point in making patents and wasting your money.

You don't need to...I am not the one that will touch your gun...ever The law will say its word if this will be legal or not but this safety device does make your gun shoot rapid fire or in bursts.

..well, if out of 900,000+ LEO in USA, & only on average 2 per year this situation has occurred, I mean, the #'s {or lack of} speak for themselves, it's a moot issue.
Thousands of people have been killed, by LEO's & LEO's themselves in crashes via these high-speed pursuits over the years, and yet the practice continues. High Speed pursuits, now there's some lives to save. Just as an example. A1 for Effort, but I think you'd be benefitted, by using your efforts & creativity, on another project. Like your Dog Grooming ideas ;) Cheerz !

I appreciate your endeavor to create something new but A) officer do not wear there gloves all the time and B) I can't imagine any agency will support a mechanism that must be worn all the time to access their firearm.

Just my opinion, maybe you creation will have other applications though. Good luck.
