Ever since the Vitrola I have not had a need to build my own record playerI thought it was a record player. Lol.
HP is inconsequential, speed will be determined by the Tempilaq....but looking at 1 or 2 seconds per rev. This should give me about 10 rotations of the brass. btw I am planning on using a stepper motor. Easier to program with what I have. If the cylinder actually ends up being the timing factor I can rotate full speed to the pick up point once the cylinder actuates. What are you using for motors? Speeds? HP?
Thanks
I would have ussed the same terms....don't worry though, I am using a paper flame so all should be okWon't the paper torch, hopper and feeding wheel (only name I can think of) catch fire?
That is a slick little machine. I am trying to get away from trying to synchronize two motors.I presume you've seen the versions on YouTube. The one I like is the Mr Longrange version.
Another take on annealing, it works awesome and fast by hand.... now if someone can automate the steps it takes.
Check out the bit about hot salt.

I'm half way through building my version. I think I can get away without a feed drum but it if that doesn't work I'll drive the drum with a timing belt. The robotics hobby stores have a lot of these parts for low prices. That is a slick little machine. I am trying to get away from trying to synchronize two motors.
Well have the design done, motor inbound and started building some of the parts. Here is the final concept drawing.
