First off, a big thank you to Barry @ 'Bits of Pieces' for getting the work done. I'm very happy with the results.
I've always loved the 92FS series, but really disliked the fixed front blade.
About a year ago I finally broke down bought a 92FS Compact INOX. As expected, the front sight was terrible, not only was the little dot drilled off-center, but it is almost impossible to see the stainless front sight when shooting.
Long story short:
I found one company that makes a complete sight replacement for the fixed sight Beretta 92FS, but milling is required. (The set I bought is Part# BE-0001S-6)
XS Sight Systems also appears to be the only company performing this delicate operation as there isn't much room for error. Unfortunately, being that we are in CANADA and XS SIGHTS in the US, shipping a slide south for gunsmith work is a no-go.
However, knowing that it was possible, I pursued. I spoke in length with an XS rep and got the details of what was involved. Next, I ran it all by Barry who was game.
Well, a couple months later, today was the day. I picked up the slide from 'Bits of Pieces' and I couldn't be happier.
I figure I can't be the only one, so, I'll let the pictures do the talking from this point out. Enjoy~!
