Finally finished my Crosman 1377

[41 Colt]

Started out stock, got it to kill rats in my backyard, though I haven't seen any since killing one with a shovel. Added a flat-top piston, steel breach, adjustable rear sight, aluminum pellet holder, aluminum barrel band/front sight, and custom Cocobolo grips I got unfinished which just got a coat of oil today. I got all this stuff back in late fall but started that ukulele building thread which took up all my time. Glad it's finally done!

Looks great!
That flat top valve and piston makes a world of difference.
Also, you can gain another bit of oomph by opening up the transfer port (metal fitting between valve and barrel)....and if the gun will only dump 8 pumps, put a weaker valve spring in it and it will dump approx 14.

WOW, Thats really nice look'n 41 Colt, What sorta velocity you getting?
This being somewhat similar to the 2240, Most mods are the same straight across minus the obvious?
I did some mods on my 2240 such as the steel breech, power spring, target trigger and 14" bbl. I get approx 490 fps.
I've taken 4 rabbits so far this winter with it.
Anyways, nice air pistol!!

been thinking of a 1377, or the benjamin/sheridan 22 for plinking and ditch chickens.

Thankyou. The grips came from RB Grips. I forget where everything else came from, sorry.

I think that's where the piston and extra o-rings came from. Can't remember where the pellet can and front sight same from, but it was the US.

just wondering if you've had a chance to shoot after modding and the accuracy results, any difference/improvement, the same, it's all good!
I take it the extension at the rear of the receiver is the 'pellet holder'?

This thread is going to cost me a few bucks I see. I have the same pistol only in .22 calibre. (Crossman 1322 Medalist) I've always wanted to re-do it, and now I see how it can be done. The grips aren't necessary, but they sure do look a lot better than the pos plastic ones that come with the gun. Nice job, 41 Colt!

I have a 2240 with TR Robb breech & trigger shoe, the breech was not really worth the price but it sure looks nice, and imo, the 1377/1322/medalist/2240 need a trigger shoe to make them comfortable to shoot.

Edit: I would get a simple trigger shoe for one of these pistols before I will spend $75 bucks on an aftermarket trigger.

The brass trigger's on 13xx,22xx's,and so forth are very uncomfortable ,
like pulling your finger on a knife !
so this mod fatten's up the width .
