If you have any elbow grease left you could clean up that garage and get rid of the ugly brown chair.
Order out of chaos is my mantra. That bostram seat has been around, and could tell a story or two. You're right though my shop is a frickin disaster area. I'm somewhat of a mad scientist, filthy disorganized lab and all.

I play with the idea of putting a better scope on it someday, but kinda like the nostalgic look of the low profile oldie on it.
And yeah the bluing on the guard has only got darker if anything, just love this rifle to bits. Saw another mossy at the range a couple days ago and was reminded how much better it looks than the old plastic ones.
I agree with about the looks of the scope, fits the rifle perfectly. What you might do is watch for a clean Weaver j4 or baby Redfield, both 3/4" tubes, so they would fit in the existing rings, but a definite step up in optic quality, in my experience.

Has something to do with the high carbon content. You soak the slow rust blued part in it and the carbon apparently impregnates itself into the pores in the rusted finish. Makes it even blacker.
For sure, if I see a better scope that maintains the look I'm into it. But this old scope is pretty badass, it's a "werner" made in Germany. Pretty clear glass honestly, and a very, very fine reticle that holds zero perfectly and tracks accurately, and repeatably. I can't really ask for much more tbh. For the ranges I typically use it, it works really well. Most, if not all of my .22 shooting is under 50m these days. If I long range plinked I'd probably want a bdc reticle.
