Ive been working on this rifle for about two years now, i bought it as a barreled action for next to nothing, the guy thought it was bad thing it was "only chambered in 22, not 303". Myself i couldn't have been more excited.

i restored it to a sporter state, that i was happy with for about a year until i found my self with a few really nice LE rifles, and then i wanted more out of this one.

So i figured it was going to be fully restored before i was truly happy with it. I spliced the fore end, just before the barrel band after finding a front half of one. and i ended up with the BSA peep sight after doing some work for a guy on a few barrels and bolts (turning MLE into LEC parts) so i figured id put that on the rifle as well. the little lag was missing off the sight that goes to the trigger guard screw, so i made one and welded it on, i also had to make up a little bush and spring for the safety to work properly.

so here are some pic, the first 2 pics is what the rifle looked like when i bought it (its the one with out the butt stock in the pic) and the next is how it sat as a sporter for a while, and finally the last pics are how it sits after a late night last night.

Nice work. Built one no1mk3,22 as well and two on the no 4 action but one is 17 hmr. Lots of cheap trigger time to be had now. Check the headspace!!!
be well

Very cool. I am glad you saved her. 22 trainers have really become a passion of mine over the last year or so. I find it very hard to say no when I see one.

Great job. These are getting harder to find and even harder to restor as the parts are getting scarce.
I just finished restoring one myself a couple of weeks ago. I had all the metal bits and used a nice set of reproduction wood on it. Looks a bit too new but I am still happy

Thanks guys, i was really happy with how it turned out, now im working on building one of a no4 action, im sleeving a no4 barrel with a tuned down cooey barrel at the moment, and i have a striped no4mk2 action, so that ones going to be a while.

And i hope to get this out shooting this weekend comeing. And ill bring back range reports. But when it was a sporter it would shoot 4" groups at 100m but i couldnt see the target, i hope the peep sight helps that. My favorte thing to shoot with it though are CCI 830fps 22 shorts, at 100m shoting at a 6" plate. Near silent and the ring of the plate is the loudest part of it.
