Dirty Rotten Red X's

Sounds nice though.

When you get this, there's a fix:
right click - properties - and look up the address - highlight & right click & copy it. Open a new Explorer, paste the copied link in the address bar and .... VOILA !

Nicely done, BTW

I have the same problem all the time, ever since CGN did this new format of website. EVERY photo that anybody posts, even their avitars, smilies, reply box, quote, etc. have the red x. WTF is up with that and how do I change it back? No other websites are like that.

norinco????

norinco? is that a M305, M14, or M14s? and how old?

just cause I see what looks like selector lug on the side there? I am trying to wise myself to these norinco m305/m14s rifles? that one a non-restricted semi?

Hans

You should have held out for a USGI op rod instead of cutting down the connector link when you added the dummy selector.;)

I am going to look at milling the connector link cutout in my Norc op rod so the connector link will fit properly in the op rod when I build my shorty this week.:D

Otherwise, well done.:)

SKBY.

Thanks for the comments.

Caboose - You have to get one!

Skullboy - there was a lot of dremmel work on that dummy selector. The neat part was I fit a small piece of wood in the selector hole to hold the actual selector piece so it wasn't loose in there. You're a lot more knowledable than me when it comes to M14's, so I just went with what I knew, it would have been nice it it would have just slapped in there, or if I could have made some nicer alterations like you're suggesting. The fun part was crazy glueing it to the stock (I stuck my fingers together twice, haha).

hfp75- It's a Norinco M14S. I got it last summer/fall from Marstar. You're right, that one a non-restricted semi.

I actually started off with a USGI fiberglass stock on this one, I painted it all black. It was o.k., but I like the wood better. The fiberglass was also a lot heavier. I'm not trying to say that it's a light setup now, I weighed it on the scale with me and it looks like it's 14 lbs! (with bipod).

The ####ty part is now that I'm moving in less than two months, and I don't want to buy a crate of that portugese 7.62x51 because I am pretty sure the movers won't move ammunition. So I have to wait until I get to Ottawa now :p I'm looking forward to getting down there as there's a lot more oppertunities for this sport/hobby down there.

Nobody has any ideas what I can do about the red x's in my internet browser?

The ammunition is indeed one of those things the movers dislike. When I moved from the Prairies a few years ago, they would only touch my guns if they were registered. Not wanting to be backed into registry, I kept aside a truck load of otherwise "prohibited" cargo: guns, ammo, houseplants, chemicals, flammable liquids, cats, some unique lumber that was too good to leave behind, etc.

That said, I like surplus military ammo cans for sorting and storing my ammunition. The handle makes them easy to carry and store.

Yeah I have all my ammo in a few small ammunition cans. I will likely end up taking the ammo (and my cat) in my own vehicle. I'll leave the bar-b-q propane tank with my neighbour.

I can't wait to get my hands on some the the portugese surplus ammo for this rifle once I get settled.
