Finally Finished

I assume groups could be measured two ways.

1) measure center to center, obviously giving the best info showing actual trajectory. I cant see how this is possible though on a bugholed target without some sort of electronic aid unless there are some assumptions?
2) measure from outside to outside of the farthest apart holes. If this is a bughole group, its a more realistic measure as there isnt guessing where the center would have been on where the bullet punched through.

Just thinking aloud.

Also, can you give your opinion on your new rest? Looks like the real ticket!

General acceptance is to measure outside to outside and subtract the bullet width.

This is not a benchrest comp where a single bullet hole would be measured then subtracted (or however they do it).

Does your barrel magically shrink the bullets?? Wouldn't the best overall grouping be .236?? And that would mean all your shots would have to go in the same hole!! Or am I missing something? Maybe center to center? I need some enlightening.

Hello my friend from Kelowna BC,who is into all the gong making, you don't say much but when you do it's great. I can only report what the program terms as being the measurement. I would have to say .236 would make sense but it comes out as .093 ?????? in the program...go figure.??????????

The program I use measures center to center.....not sure if its good or bad, all I can do is post what it tells me.:)
But regardless the gun is kick A$$ and I have one of the barrels you dream of.

Oh Yea!

Bucky, that is a nice shooting rig for sure. Bring it down in the spring/summer and we can stretch its legs a bit.

I bet it will be silly accurate at 1000yds.

The program has subtracted the bullet diameter from its measurement or center to center.

One hole, is one hole and that is a really nice group.

I don't mean to be a jerk but were the other groups using the same load or were you working up a load and that bughole was one charge level?

NO matter what, a group like that certainly deserves a place on the wall.

Nice shooting and great looking rig.

I've tried to shoot groups like that too but the muzzle blast kept blowing up my targets;). All kidding aside those are some great groups.

JERRY WOWS LIFE IN SUMMERLAND.

I was using the same load but had a farm kitty tiring to get into the act....so every time I tried to be steady the cat decided it was time to attack, at the same time I was tiring to zero my scope on a kitchen table that I can shoot off of in my reloading room, the cat was no help at all....but I got her done.

Cheers
