Hey guys,

Like many of us, I was pretty fed up with the 10-round limit on the 10/22 due to the Charger pistol crossover. So I spent some time at the CAD desk and 3D printer to solve it.

I designed a custom adapter that allows the 10/22 receiver to accept Remington 597 magazines. Since the 597 is strictly a rifle platform, converting a GSG-16 110-round drum (with a Remington 597 feed neck) means there are no capacity limits. 100% legal in Canada.

It snaps right into the mag well and feeds flawlessly. I made a couple of quick YouTube videos showing how the adapter installs and how the whole drum setup runs:

Adapter Installation Video (on Ruger 10/22) :
Drum Setup Video (on Ruger 10/22) :
Range Test Fire Video (100Rds Drum Mag on Remington 597):

It’s completely transformed my 10/22 range days. No more constantly reloading those tiny factory rotary mags.

Just wanted to share this project with the community. Let me know what you guys think of the design!

Pop-Can-Nat just came in her Grandma-Panties!.....:):ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO:

A drum mag designed to shoot the most amount of pop-cans/gophers, in the shortest amount of time.

Ban-hammer coming to a city near you.....:(:unsure::(

I ordered one of the adapters, hopefully it works, but I do have some faith as the designer is a post-graduate Engineering student, so seems like this would be the type of person with the right skills to build the adapter.

That's cool. I always found the ruger drums and banana mags more unreliable myself so preferred the rotary tri-mag adaptor. How do the Remington mags feed?

I have 5 rem 597 mags and 3 of them I was able to 'make work'. A couple hundred rds through each in a 'breakin period' video I found on SBI's website. They now work flawlessly.
The other 2 mags, well they ended up in the trash. Nothing was gonna make them work.
It's a crap shoot..............

How do the Remington mags feed?

The ProMag 597s are pretty rough out of the box, with mold lines catching the follower or bullets. But as I have used them a few times, they seem to run better. They are still much less reliable than the rotary mag, but sometimes I can magdump 22 bullets, which is a nice feeling.
