Long story short, I sold my old G21 because it was way to big for me. I always liked the gun, but the 21 just ain't for me.

So, a while ago I ordered a 10mm conversion barrel for another G21 - this time I was hell bent on the SF.

I got it all put together today and went out to the range. First, I shot it in .45 and this gun (actually all Glocks) just blow me away. People always say it's only good enough for "combat accuracy", but for whatever reason I have shot every Glock I've ever had my hands on much better then any other brand.

Anyways, here she is. I think I'd like to get a nickel pin kit to match the barrel and some night sights, but that's in the future.

Looks like fun,I was going to get the nickel pin kit and nickel slide lock for my G20C also, but within 15 mins I had the 2 pins below the slide and the slide lock lever polished up, similar to a chrome look. Where did you get the conversion barrel? I'm likely going to get a 40 S&W conversion for mine!

Nice work, is that a chunk missing from the top of your slide or dust?

Nah, just dust.

An outfit called EFK firedragon. I belive that Storm Lake or Lone Wolf make Canadian Legal .40SW conversions for the 20.

Very nice...

Thanks

SF = short frame = the grip is a little shorter I believe it is the same width though.

Yes, exactly.

What magazines are you using? The 21SF isn't compatible with older mags due to the mag release being in the middle, so that's why I'm wondering. I'd think you'd have to use 4th gen G20, or G20SF mags. Of course, I could be wrong, you've done it, so please, I'm curious. Thanks, cool gun, one of my future plans is to do exactly the same thing with mine :)

I bought 2 new Glock 21 ambi magazines. They look like this:

I think you can get older G21 mags to work in an ambi-mag release gun, you just need to cut out that rectangular hole in your old mags and you should be good to go.

Also, if you get a G21SF without an mag release, I can't see why older style magazines wouldn't work as they are exactly the same as new non-ambi magazines, IIRC.

So, 40s+w feeds from the 45acp mags, cool. That was probably my biggest concern before getting the conversion myself. It's the only reason I don't already have the Advantage Arms 22lr kit. I've got 4 mags already for my G21sf, I bought them cheap ($30) when I first bought it from Questar last year.
Is the barrel fully supported? That was a concern I'd had about the G20. If it's a fully supported barrel, feeds from the same magazines, and is fairly easy to switch over, I'm probably gonna go ahead and do it fairly soon. 10MM is one awesome caliber.

whoa......

I don't think that .40SW will feed from .45 Auto magazines. I've tried to feed 10mm from .45Auto mags and the 10mm just immediately pops out, it's too small to hold in the .45 auto mags.

BUT......

I can feed .45Auto from 10mm mags. Now granted, I can't do it reliably, but it will work 4/5 times.

The Firedragon barrel isn't fully and completely supported, but it does look allot better then regular G-20 barrels. Keep in mind, the more support you have, the harder the rounds are to feed and the more jams you get.

With that being said, I have a hard time understanding where all of this "unsupported barrel" nonsense started. There is no such thing according to Glock, and they claim that even with the G20 barrel that you can run maximum power loads through it all day long.

I typed the wrong thing  I actually meant to say 10mm, not 40 s&w. So, if the 10mm pops out of the 45 magazine, which magazines are you using for the 10mm? Also my G21sf has the ambi mag release, which is handy in use, but annoying as all get out for aftermarket accessories.

I'm not overly afraid of any unsupported chamber, but I'm also pretty cheap, and want the brass to last as long as possible. So if it gets a Glock bulge, I'd be a little nervous about using it for another go round of full tilt party time 10mm. I think I've read in other recent 10mm threads that some guys are only running brass for full power loads twice, then target loads after that.

Did you run factory 10mm? Or your own loads? It'd pretty much be a requirement to load myself here, the local stores don't really have any cool ammo.

I went out and got 2 - 10mm mags from TSE. They have the rectangular cut out for the ambi mag release and they work great.

I've just got some factory stuff right now. Some 180 grain XTP's @ 1180fps and some 200 grain XTP's @ 1050 fps.

I'll save the brass I have and maybe buy a reloading setup in the future.
