After two years of saying "next time" I am finally snaggin an M14.

I went to the local small town shop for high rings, and there it was on the shelf. Talk about the last place I expected to find one! $499 with sling and one 5 round shorty mag.

Couldn't take it. Needed to be mine. Made a down payment on it then.

Waaa hooo!

Yup, welcome to the addiction. Now you gotta start reading all of Skullboy's and MY posts to learn as much as you can. Yeeeha ! ;)

Cheers,
Barney

welcome and you will find as funny if not more pleasant to pimp the rifle instead of shooting it! :p
At least for me

Hi all, thanks for the encouragement!

Barney, I've been doing my homework and everything I read and learn here just makes me want the next one that much more lol.

Big Ugly Man, I'd love to score a DVD...who do I talk to about that?

I was able to watch some of the clinic from a website that hosted it about a year ago and seriously LOVED it. I didn't know *too* much about the Norinco M14s then, but after watching that and trying a bud's in Ottawa I needed one. Badly. You know how it is, so many guns so little money but I finally struck while the iron was hot and came out a winner.

Gonna go put more money on it tomorrow. MAYBE even pay it off! Who knows!

Joel, welcome to the obsession!!! I am going to have to start reloading just to feed the obsession I have with this rifle. NO upgrades just pure Norinco M14. I may buy another one just to play with upgrades, but this one is staying stock. Once again welcome to the obsession!!!!!

Thanks Jay, and I am obsessed! Going back to the store tomorrow to pick up rings again...Debating if I am gonna pay off the remainder of the M14 or not.

Heh.

Whats to debate. We all know I am paying when I see the rifle again.

I think mine is staying original too...Or...maybe a new walnut stock but thats it. Still, I can live with the Chu wood...But it would be nicer.

Ah heck with it I like the "Don't buy one" logic you guys have

Well no luck yet.

Went to the store to pay off the beast and bring it home. When they called in the transfer, CFC sent it to my CFO for review...

*sniff*

I don't usually get this emotional but I wanted my gun today

:(

They are not full auto...
neither is the m1a or anything else that's generally available- considering it's 7.62 nato or308win, that's just as well- leave the full auto to the m1919 et al- even our beloved fn used to wander a bit in c2 config-

Wow I go away for a couple of weeks and look what you go and do! Guess all that arm twisting I have been doing for the past year has finically paid off. Congrats and welcome to the club.
