Finally got a Mosin M38

Hi fellows milsurps lovers, i finally added a Mosin M38 in my collection. Bought it from fellow weimajack and as always, only quality milsurp. Its a 1944 Izhevsk, with the correct M38 stock. Overall very good to excellent, non-counter bored and the bore is very good. The suprise is a very very smooth action, like my polish M44. Here's fews pics.

Congrats. The M38 is an awesome little fire breathing rifle. Ive got one in mint condition, and one for a shooter. I like shooting them even more than my M44s.

I dont really have acces to a good range in winter but i could put in snowshoes and go in a remote field to try it out, i must see. I am glad to have one with the proper stock but if no other choice, i would have been happy with a M44 stocked one and i am glad to have wait to pick a M38, i couldnt justifie to pay $600+ for a M38,particulary if its with a M44 stock. Well i have like 30+ rifles that i was supposed to try but never did but the M38 is on the list now

Shes a beaut!
Make sure you clean the bolt completely free of cosmoline before you shoot it or you'll get the ol mosin sticky bolt!

Nice rifle, I have a '43. Anybody know why they're coming with mismatched handguards? Was it during a refurb of some kind and they never bothered to match the pcs. My stock is dark but the handguard is a lot lighter. Maybe we should start a M38 handguard swapping to match thread. If anyone has a darkie and needs a lightie, PM me.

Likely put togather mismatched during the refurb process...I don't think Ivan was concerned with matching wood color..unfortunately.
