After about a decade of thinking about buying a mosin I finally picked one up from wholesale sports in Kelowna. Got a very nice number matching including bayonet(force match floor plate) 1942 izzy with very nice wartime stock and awesome bore(not counter bored) for 150 bucks! Not sure how long they will be around for that price.

Numbers matching as well as the bayonet? Well done, I haven't heard of that happening before!
I do believe someone here once said that if you find a numbers matching bayonet, you should buy a lottery ticket ;)

You need to shop at better stores :) I got a hand select 1938 all matching, including the bayo, non-refurb from corwin-arms. They're out there. A not insignificant # of pre-war built were almost never fired - they got issued to senior troups who stayed behind the lines doing training, support, planning, etc. Mine was so close to mint it isn't even funny - looks like it might have been test fired, then propped up behind a filing cabinet for the war, except to maybe get oiled once in a while.

Mine cost a bit more than $150 though - $198 + tx + ship, but got a free "Polish Special Forces Knife" thrown in.

Ya, I was told that once...

All commercially available Mosin Nagants have been refurbed.

What you end up with is called "forced match".

Cheers !!

That's a good price I got mine for $149.

Not too many choices for me up here. I mainly got it as a fun shooter. I should have tried to get a hex in the back, but I didn't have time... I usually have good luck with surplus

Good choice. I can hit a gong at 200yds with open sights all day long with my '42 Izzy. Hopefully you will too when you figure out how she's shooting. Stock up on some cheap surplus ammo, you're gonna need it. Have fun.

Got my first almost 3 years ago from Westrifle for $109, got a few more since then and last week got 2 more from TSE on sale for $109! and only $10 shipping!!
Actually looking at when I joined the CGN it was pretty much exactly 3 years ago for my first Mosin!!

I would have happily paid $198+tax and shipping even without the knife - Martin always puts together some good deals! I paid $170 for mine with a force matched magazine, and I can't complain a bit as it's a fantastic shooter. Force matched doesn't much matter to myself as long as it's still accurate :)
