Accessory wise, its been a while collecting everything I want....but I finally got my AR to where I want to be.

Take a look and let me know what you think. Gonna test out the optics this weekend and try it at the 3 gun match the weekend after.

Looks great. What are the specs? I've been wrestling with going from an M4 stock to something like a SOPMOD for a while, myself. But I like the weight of the M4 stock.

Very nice, welcome to the black side.

Not being a critic, but grasshopper you need a quad rail forend so you can put a light and a vert. grip on it.

Where did you get the mags.

No but seriously it looks good.

Congratulation.

Well, you don't need that stuff ;)

You have a bipod and magnification, so I assume you are going for mostly prone/bench style shooting?

M1S upper with a cerro forged receiver on a Tactical Innovations lower. Pretty much everything is stock as far as the gun goes. Its got a Falcon Menace 1.5-4x scope in a Burris PEPR mount along with a Blue Force Gear SOC-C sling.

Personally, I don't mind the stock, it does what its supposed to do and some of the upgrades can get quite pricey

No thanks ;) I am intentionally avoiding those kind of accessories, they don't serve very much purpose for what I use it for. I've actually had this rifle for a little while now, but have been using irons to develop some shooting proficiency. As it turns out, hitting the tiny poppers at 80 yards can be somewhat difficult with a 14 MOA (or whatever it is) Front site post

I got the mags from Dynamite Monkey, fantastic guy to buy from, fast shipping, great product. I also have 3 LAR mags for the range and a few standard capacity mags that I leave abroad.

The bipod is for prone shooting yes, but its not all I do. I mainly use this rifle for 3 gun matches and hopefully some Borden CQB and service rifle this year.

Good job!

Use the magazine as a monopod, and you don't even need the bipod.

Really minor, as such things go, but a DPMS enhanced bolt release, or a Magpul BAD might be worth considering.

Very nice. Sometimes its refreshing to see an AR without all the rails.

Well done. Should be fun in a 3 gun.

Dont know much about these, what are the benefits of an enhanced bolt release?

With the DPMS, it is easier to lock the bolt open, particularly with the right hand.
The BAD allows the bolt to be released with the right trigger finger, and like the DPMS release, facilitates locking it open with the right hand.
Neither costs much.

I think these are used with the side by side mag couplers no? I am pretty sure I have seen them before now that you describe it.

No, they aren't related to mag couplers. The DPMS has a larger upper paddle, and then doglegs down with another paddle. You can cup your right hand around the trigger guard so that the bolt can be locked back while your left hand is on the charging handle. Saves running the CH with the right hand while you hunt for the notch on the bolt release with the left thumb. The BAD is an arm that attaches to a standard bolt release paddle. It drops down, and then extends through the trigger guard above and in front of the trigger. Push the end with the trigger finger to release the bolt, and you have a much larger paddle on the left side for locking the bolt open.

I haven't shot much CQB, primarily Service Conditions. Mag. couplers or a RediMag setup are not necessary for SC.

Watch www.osacanada.ca for the 2010 schedule. There may be some shoots you would be interested in. Our 3 gun are pistol, service rifle, sniper rifle. Further from Brantford than Borden, though.

Incidentally, I am quite satisfied with my Falcon Menace 1 1/2-5.
