Finally got the elusive full Manlicher 308 Zastava from Epps...

Different recoil pad, blued bolt, no pistol grip cap

Those are all better imo...

how bad is the recoil pad and the trigger?
I cannot tell the difference in recoil when shooting my 9.3x62 Zavasta Mannlicher with 286gr from shooting my Sako Black Bear in 3006 with 180 gr, so the recoil pad is not that bad! I know recoil is a subjective to the individual, but the 9.3 is a push rather than a snap as with magnums. The Zavasta's are very good value for the money compared to a lot of other manufacturers offerings.

Very happy with my Zavasta 9.3x62 now that I have put a VX3 scope on it, also very pleasant rifle to shoot

I put a FX II 6x36 on mine with vortex quick release rings.
How is the action? Mine is very rough, hopefully after a few hundreds of firing, it can be smooth. But so far, it is very very rough.

I also found it quite rough, however it seems to be mainly caused by the magazine and if you cycle the action with the magazine open it is a lot smoother.

Sit in front of the TV and cycle it for an hour a night. Sure the wife might think you're nuts, but your action will slick up and the whole enterprise will cost you nothing.

And as a bonus, if the wife doesn't like it she'll leave the room and you can watch whatever you want. No Bachelorette at elker's house thsi week!
