Finally got the Sendero up and running *new gong pics and video*

Just some thing to think about, but from your first picture it looks as though you are elevated. This will affect your bullet drop and may account for some of your problems. Some rangefinders will compensate for this.

And nice rig!

Grino is correct.
It looks like you are 20-30 degrees above your target. At 500M this will reduce your drop by a couple min.

Nice setup and great place to shoot! Don't sweat the safety Nazi's.

Looks like you are going to find some tougher material for your gongs, the 300 Ultra is going to turn this one into swiss cheese in short order!!

I love the sled, I've thrown out 2 scissor jacks in the last couple years to the scrap yard, now I wish I would have kept them.

Nice shooting. If you feel like a drive, why not come down and we can stretch it's legs.

Angle of shot can really affect your drop table as can bore vs scope alignment and click values.

Having a drop table not agree with real world shooting is more common then not. BUT do run it over a chrony to see what speed you are getting. Also, BC's from many bullet manf's are off - some higher, some lower- so don't take a ballistic program as gospel.

It will get you close enough that you can see your impacts and adjust. Since the area looks hilly, consider that updrafts, head and tail winds can really change your drop chart. A few wind flags along the way can really help you see what the winds are doing.

Best thing is to test like you are and confirm a drop table that matches your load, rangefider and scope. As long as it stays consistent, repeatable and reliable, it's all good.

Nice looking rig and I am sure it rattles those gongs nicely.

nice rig.......that'll lay the hurt on critters waaaay out there.....I was playing with my long range blaster a bit today too....a stainless fluted Sendero in 7mm STW with Leupy 4.5-14X LR/T...only shooting to 300 meters so far but my loads shoot flatter than the chart says they should too...gotta get out to Genessee......

I think I might take you up on that offer Jerry. I'm just waiting for my lead to come in. Should be here tomorrow. Then I'll load some up and head on down. Let me know when the next time you will be shooting is.

And yes. I do need to change caps. One thing at a time I suppose.
