FINALLY! I got my SL-8/5!

I purchased an SL8-4 new and ordered the -5 rail and sights later. I think they were $130 so the short rail without sights should be really reasonable. Changing rails does not seem to affect POI. I have the HK bipod and sling, made the mistake of buying the HK bag and got lucky found 6 used mags cheap.

I really like this rifle. More than my AR's largely due to the piston and ease of cleaning. Trigger could be better. It is very accurate even with ball. It is a fantastic coyote rifle. Mine likes 69 gr gold medal but I have some 77 gr I have not tried yet.

Right now I got my son making me up a bunch of loads, that I will try out when the weather improves a bit! Both loads are using 26 gn H335, one is using 55 gn Nosler Varmageddon, and the other 53 gn Hornady HP Match. Both are 2.260 COAL. I'll come back and post results as soon as I can! Ill prolly make up a bunch with 69 gn SMK's as well...

Zeiss conquests are us made. Good quality glass though, my savage has one with the ballistic reticle.

And yeah, the Zeiss glass is AWESOME. I have a bunch of different scopes. And the Zeiss, even with the 1" tube, is prolly the nicest one I have here. I really like the lack of a parallax adjustment!
