Looks like one of the new Norcs from the latest shipment.
Norinco really stepped up their game. The machining is actually fairly well done.
I got to handle one the other day.
Even the bolt carrier group is well machined and staked.
Finish seemed awesome, no paint at all.

I was very impressed with the latest Norcs.

How is the finish on it? I bought a 14.5" the other day and it looked like it had been painted around the forward assist and front sight? Would it be paint or just an uneven finish because i heard they dont paint them anymore?

Some how the anodized Norinco CQ comes with paint overspray is some area's. Just use some CLP with a brush and it will flake right off. Mine came with paint overspray in the same area's you described and it is now all gone.

Flaherty's. It was not advertised as painted and on their forum they say they havent painted them in years but it looks like paint to me as it is much darker and there are runs. not a big deal for me and im not complaining as its a $700 ar and i understand ya get what a pay for but i was just curious if its was an old model or it they still paint them. i will likely refinish it down the road but i will put it to some good use first.
