Well thought I would finally get an AR style rifle. Loving the mk12 mod 0 SPR I wanted to build one and it is almost complete.

Just wondering what optics you guys are running on you mk12 style rifles??

I have a new in box Vortex 4-16x I can use but it seems a bit to big for the rifle. Doesn't really work with my ARMS medium rings so I bought so high ones and will see how those work.

Any opinions or suggestions?? (Maybe a NFX 2.5-10x or something g instead)???

Build list

Almost complete PRI upper, minus the douglas barrel and break. Instead I have an hbar barrel and AAC break on it.
Armalite m15A4B lower
Harris bipod with GG&G adapter
Arms # 22 medium rings (don't work with my optic so ordered the HIGH rings. Still waiting on them)

Anyway here is a quick pic of it

Sorry Bfiles... I laughed out loud when I saw that this was your first AR. I've of course followed your other builds over the years with MUCH envy, so I was like.. .WTF, an AR NOW?!? :)

Regarding optics, I can't see in Canada why anyone would need more than a 1-4x on an AR (based on range lengths, unless you're blessed with something beyond 200yds).

Anyway, welcome to the dark side buddy!

Thanks guys, yeah I'm not much of a poodle shooter but it may change now with this build.

I'm fortunate enough to have a range out to 300y outside the stank hole of T.O.

I think I'll keep he 4-16x on it for now and if my preference changes I look for something in the 2-10x range

i would slap on that vortex and practice shooting clays @ 200, take it across the border for some hunting , and some long range target practice.

You wouldn't happen to be shooting at Oshawa ?. If so we should hook up

How is the rest of your red rifle collection doing btw? Still have the bulk of it? I've moved to black rifles for competition and haven't been following the red rifle section s much.
