FINALLY... Number 1

Well it has been a long winter, but I finally got my 1st ever coyote.

I was set up on a small cliff overlooking a river, when suddenly I see a head pop up 15 feet in front of me, he looks at me, his eyes bulge and he turns around and heads back down the cliff.

I stood up in time to see him stop and look back. That was the last thing he saw.

the 222 savage 340 did its job on the 30-40 yard yote.


After it dropped, I saw another one, just as it turned the corner out of sight, so I am guessing they are paired up now.

Most amazing thing was how he scaled a 20 foot dropoff to get to my JS call.. nearly scared the crap out of me, when suddenly there is a coyote that close...

Judging by the color, it looks like that one's mother was a fox.

I shot a large male and medium female this morning, so yeah, it seems mating season is starting.

What do you have planned for the pelt? Neat colours, nice texture, hope it wasn't wasted. That's a trend that frustrates me, shoot and dump, hope you did the first one right and good show.

It was used as a training tool... To teach me how to skin a coyote.
