Finally! Poachers Handed Substantial Convictions

I am not sure I understand, Natives walk free when charged? Or poaching? Illegal is illegal, race doesn't matter.... What am I missing?

Its rare that natives ever get charged with poaching, CO's appear to turn a blind eye to native hunting and fishing all the time.
The laws should be applied equally to everyone that poaches, not just those that they have the best chance of prosecuting.

If that's the case, what the heck is wrong with the CO's? I have only witnessed it once where the MNR didn't charge FN "hunters" for hunting at night. Never understood that as it wasn't on reserve land. Illegal is illegal, shouldn't matter who is doing it. Once again, that's government failure.

Its definitely a political failure, I' would bet that the CO's are told not to bother persueing native poaching. The laws should apply to everyone, but sadly this is not the case.

To my understanding it isnt reserve land it is traditional territory they are allowed to hunt isnt it? i agree poaching should be punished period, but this is there land and if we negoiated them the right to hunt it how they wish we shouldnt whine. but on the flip side some natives do abuse it and bad.

Co's do not charge natives, since they know that there is next to no chance any judge in the country would do anything but dismiss. Now if treaty claims were settled, and there was a clause applying hunting/fishing/trapping to limits or regulations....then it would not be a waste of time for CO's....maybe.

On a side note this may be a direction if our Libtard government comes out with laws/regulations limiting, restricting, confiscating firearms. Should natives be exempt from these regulations, it would open up a charter challenge. From a previous thread, legal beagles will hopefully be along soon.

mixed feeling on it , not sure what these guys did exactly but if the meat is used and not sold for $$$ , it's no different then the natives/meits.

A bunch of very disturbed f'ed up scumbags. Not sure what good the hunting bans will do since they weren't hunters, firearms bans would have been more appropriate for these idiots.

Glad to see the system being used as intended. Now if the courts will start handing out more appropriate types of punishment to other criminals using guns, like drug dealers and gang bangers, we may eventually get somewhere.

Are you suggesting firearm bans work on criminals? Lol

Well no, because we know they don't. But if these losers had lifetime bans then they might suffer some further consequences as all the bleeding heart SJW's die off from terminal self-righteousness in the next few decades.

This was all over the local news shortly after I moved out here and people were outraged, rightfully so. I am glad they were caught, charged, convicted and had firearms and other property seized. This has nothing to do with native vs non-native rights one bit. This was purely a case of wildlife shot and left to rot and justice being served. I applaud everyone involved in bringing about that justice!
Sorry about the link, ot worked for me at first but died on me too?

I have never sold meat for profit I do hunt for Family and The community
I also take into consideration The guys that purchase hunting tags and will try to avoid the animals they can legally harvest in order to increase their opportunity
Sometimes I read these threads and think I should quit thinking about other hunters after all I am being accused of something I have never done .
I have read some pretty outrageous racial statements that is totally based on fiction and propaganda !
