Finally RECEIVED My FN FAL Bought January 2014 PICTURES UP

I dont get why people uses canada post for firearms.

Ups or fedex it. Its only 30$ more, we are of a hobby that burns money and throws money down range

I gave my CDA Postie $20 at Christmas so that he remembers me and my many inbound packages.....I get the best service ever. A good thing about Fedex and UPS in my 'hood, is that it's the same drivers doing same area each day, so they get to know you.

Canpar dude took my ammo right to my condo door, with a small tip. Saves my back.

I bought my first FN in 1980 from Lever Arms.....surplus from Israel or something.....when it was still fun to own and shoot.

I don't get this. 70's and into the early 90's I can understand, but about the only problem I've had is getting a notice when I was home. Since I live in a rural area and the carrier knows the people on the route I could forgive her for thinking I was at work when I wasn't. I also had an item damaged but insurance took care of that with out any hassle. As someone who has worked for them over the years shunting, doing specials/box pick-ups, letter carrier, and in the station, I hear all this bad stuff and have seen one incident...one. My all time favorite was how the letter carriers are in the bar at noon...maybe in 1970, if you could finish your walk and be in the bar by noon in 1991 when I was a letter carrier I can say without reservation you earned a drink.

If you want to throw away another $30 have at it...I'll use that for another 100 projectiles.

Glad you got your rifle albayo! :dancingbanana:

Not to be rude or anything but what is the point of owning these firearms? You cant discharge them so the entire hassle of "owning" them seems ridiculous to me. If its just going to sit and look pretty may as well render it inoperable and then you won't have to go through this entire headache with the rcmp.

Again this is assuming you can't discharge them.

I don't know the OP, but my 2 answers would be:

A- The principle of it.
B- The collectors aspect of it.

I would not deactivate - See reason "a" :)

ITB

I would NEVER DEACTIVATE a working gun unless the military had me up against a wall with a firing squad pointing guns at me and my family. Once deactivated, it is no longer a gun, but just a memory of BS politics at it's best. Just because our PINKO government says it is "bad" doesn't make it bad. It's no more lethal than my AR15 or my 45/70 GBL Marlin. FFS.
CHEERS to the OP for his hard work saying a big F.U. to the government and not letting them win. If he was here I'd get him piss drunk for free!!

Must just be luck for me, I always only try to use Canada Post. I have NEVER had luck with FedEx or UPS.. .They are horrible.

Deactivating is the ultimate sin....

Beauty albayo! I had one just like it in the mid-80's.

As for you skatemike77, you need to re-evaluate your thinking...if for no other reason than to show THE MAN your middle finger.

Nice piece of history. Lots of fond memories for my younger years. I even owned one for a short time pre C68; wish I had kept it as I would have had a 12(3) now!
I guess my non-restricted M-14 is just so much safer! Lol

Well said Brother!

My buddy has one of these, enjoy it and congrats.

Neat. It would be great to see some better quality pictures of it though.

I've been thinking of getting a DSA FAL or PTR91 in the next couple years but we will see.

Just because a law says that you can't do something does not mean it cannot be done . If you happen to live in a rural area , then the options are endless.....
