Finally The Marlin 1895GSBL is in Canada. Only Took 2 Years.

I like the look of this new Marlin and with that Nitron finish and painted hardwood stock. I would think it would be really durable in the woods.
Not really light at 8 pounds but it is a lever gun after all and you probably don't want a 45-70 much lighter or it would be an unpleasant beast to shoot.

Almost 3X the price of a Guide Gun and not even real synthetic.
And heavier.
Over 8 pounds loaded.
If the bear doesn't go down after 4 shots you're a bad shot or you're shooting at a 'Smokey The Bear' sign.

It cost $400 to Nitron finish a SS rifle. That's what I was originally going to do. I have all the Wild West parts for it. Might just sell them to fund the rifle. Have to think about it.

Did you end up with one of these? If so how'd you like it? I recently saw a thread on here where they are being discontinued either that or one company saying it was the last batch they would be importing....made me think about one

I think they are discontinued, I was thinking about it but couldn't justify the cost considering I don't really need one. They seem to have been pulled from the marlin webpage.
