Braved the range today. First in quite awhile. Rain, wind, and vampire mosquitoes! Heavy bug dope and a bug smoke ring, done before our 4 o’clock showers. Shot 5/5 rd groups + sighters and conditioning. Focus and consistency was a little lacking. Results prove little but:
SK + lot 1; Ave .397, smallest .32,&.455 largest. I seldom beat 1/2 “ for 5 groups with this lot.
SK+ lot 2; Ave .32, smallest 225, largest .495. This is usually a better lot, I let one slip to open one group.
Very old Lapua running target; Ave .547 2 called seemed to hang just the smallest amount. Smallest .35 largest .7.
Lapua polar (old); not sure but I’ll call the lower than average score on the shooter concentration. Ave .672, smallest .345, largest 1.45,(.45 without my called) not sure why but I was not in the game for these 5.
CIL Dominion; older than many here 50+.; 2 FTF copper wash bullets, ave.1.11, smallest .89, largest 1.63 not sure if any shots my fault. Still good for gophers, plan to clean up all 1 of a kind and part boxes in spring gophers. Get rid of the few 100s of old stuff, clean out shelves and then use the fresh(er) stuff.
