First up is my Glock 17 with the Hera Arms Glock Carbine Conversion. I went with a Vortex Strikefire red dot scope for optics, and Daniel Defense Vertical grip. The flashlight is just for looks, I dont know what brand it is, but its nothing compared to Surefire lights. I cant justify spending 300$ dollars on a flashlight that I dont need. But I dont mind spending 19.99 at a surplus store for a light, with mount and batteries. A little hockey tape to attach the pressure switch and viola.

Second toy is a CMMG M4LE. I just finished working on it yesterday. Lots or parts came in on friday.
Bushnell Red Dot Scope (will be replaced soon, had it extra)
Midwest Industries T-Series 12" One Piece Free Float rail
Magpul MIAD Grip
Magpul XTM Rails
Magpul MBUS
Magpul PMAG
Gas block was cut down to make a low profile gas block and painted with VHT Engine Paint. (great stuff!)

Ordered is a PWS (FSC556) Compensator and a YHM Phantom Brake/Compensator (YHM-28-5M1), couldn't decide on one so I ordered both. And a Troy Industries Modular Combat Grip. Oh and 1 more pack of XTM Rails.
Magpul MBUS and the Bushnell red dot are co-witnessed perfectly at 100 meters.

First Question: How is that Vortex Strikefire red dot? Im currently looking for a red dot of some sort and was just curious how the quality is? and price?

Second Question: On the AR, what sight is that? Copy of a Trijicon?

Thanks,
Josh

Vortex makes quality products. Strikefires are sold out across Canada until July. Strikefires very well recieved from most users. On optic planets Strikefires are averaging 4.6 out of 5 rating from 46 reviews. Strikefires are 170 new not including tax and shipping.

Bushnell Trophy 1X32 on the ar15

I like the strikefire red dot alot, no complaints at all! Not so happy with the bushnell Trophy. The reticle is too big.

It comes with a x2 Magnifier that you attach to the end. I havn;t used it yet, I keep forgetting it at home.

Thats where I bought it from. They have some instock right now.

I think I've got the same CMMG AR as you - or very similar. 14.5" barrel. I'm not into the big rails at this point in my shooting life, but yours does look good. I've been so impressed with mine. It is an exceptional rifle. Light, handy, very accurate, and completely problem free. I have not had any stoppages or issues with mine at all. Not a single round, and I'm coming up on a year of shooting it. It's a shame that Questar dropped this line. Hopefully someone else will import them. They are a very quality product without all the hype and overpricing of some of the other brands.

I not a huge fan of the GLOCk kits, but I have tried three of them now and - of those - I think the HERA seems to be the best and most fun to shoot. It is also the most expensive though. Some vids of the HERA, KPOS and RONI:

I totally agree, CMMG rifles are very well priced, and they shoot flawlessly! I've had no issues with mine. I mostly fire whitebox, but Ive used PMC and some handloads. I havn't done any real accurate shooting with it, probably because my optics on it suck.

ive owned both the tdot he has on his ar15 and the vortex and for the money the vortex is hard to beat

I saw one somewhere years ago, and I knew thats what I wanted to build, cant wait for the YHM Phatom Comp/Brake with the aggressive front end. I might need to get a UBR stock to add some weight to the back, its a little front heavy now.
