Well I finally took the plunge and picked up a norinco m14s from ellwood epps today for $449. Just curious as to what needs to be done with it aside from the complete cleaning of the grease and buying big mags....btw this thing is totaly awesome and I cant wait to shoot it

easiest way to fill yer head with m14 knowledge is to start with the "sticky" threads at top of mainbattlerifle forum

"...buying big mags..." 5 rounds only. 20 round mags that aren't pinned to 5 are prohibited all by themselves. Marstar lists pinned 20 round mags at $35 each.

yeah i know of the 5 round limit ..i meant big mags as in easier to grab cause these small ones are a real pain plus the larger 10 or 20 ones look better too

ohhh i have been hording ammo alright...i bought a case of 1200 from ellwoods about 5 or so months ago ...it was expensive. but i like stocking up on practise ammo for my savage 12..now i got another 308 to feed..huzzza!!

learn how to bumpfire.

also dissassemble and clean your 5 and a 5/20 round mags, making sure not to mix up the magazine followers, as they are rather similar

better start thinking about scope rail and scope and decent stock. True potential of M14 is only realised with those little things like solid stock and glass.
