I'm currently looking for a spare mag for my AIA No.4. Anyone know where to get one? I contacted wolverine, and they couldn't get any.

Australia would be my best guess. I'd be surprised if we ever saw any more of them.

Marstar has said they are getting more AIA stuff in, but who knows for sure until it's here.

I have a small pile of them $1000 each. :p Kidding Ghostsaww, they aren't for sale. Watch the EE like a hawk. They do come up, but not often and are gone instantly. Luck more than anything.

did you guys know they also make a 20 and 30 round AIA mag ....... got a sneak peak at a few samples recently.
I've tried the new zealand route as AIA has dealers there...... haven't heard back yet though.

Well, the AIA mags fit in M14s, so it should stand to reason that as long as you're willing to put up with 5 rounds, then you should be able to pick up 5 and 5/20 round M14 mags. Surely there'll be some people out there who've replaced their stubby 5 rounders and won't mind letting them go?

Didn't know that. Not to sound like too much of a pessimist, but I can foresee all AIA mags having to be pinned to 5 if these start coming in. That would be just too much for some of the powers that be, regardless of the fact that it would be the same rational behind the current 10 round AIA mags being used in 'other' rifles.

Does anyone know the legalities of a Canadian in Austrailia buying these and sending them back in the mail? Or a non PAL person bringing them back to Canada?

If any aussies can let me know I have someone down there right now that could buy and send back. (if its legal for them to buy mags down there)

Can I resuscitate this thread?
I would still like to know any info about acquiring these mags.
Emails to Marstar go unanswered.
Anyone?
Dealers?

I have a AIA #4 and the cartridges always hang up in the magazine while chambering, it's a real pain in the ass. Does anyone else have this problem ?

I kind of regret buying this rifle just for the above reason. This is unacceptable for a $800 rifle.

Any suggestions

AIA is still in business and selling every rifle it makes, in Australia and New Zealand.

A friend of mine contacted them recently (last 3 months) to check out the viability of bringing in the 7.62x39 versions. The minimum order, would be 10 rifles. Judging from the hard time Marstar has had selling to the financially strapped individuals on this site, it would be a losing proposition, so we declined.
They have already approached the RCMP, to check out the legalities of the magazines. They have also come up with a slightly different system for attaching the modified AK mags that the RCMP find acceptable.
Kyle at AIA is more than willing to sell into Canada but overall, Canadians aren't willing to purchase the rifles at the asking prices. They only make small runs each year and sell everything in their own locality.

There have been a few individuals that malign these rifles. Some have posted here in the past and over on the Milsurps site. In my opinion, this was all nothing more than smoke being pounded up our back sides. These rifles are heavy, rigid, accurate and very attractive. No, they aren't in the conventional style that most target shooters are accustomed to but they shoot as well as anything else out there at the same or higher price levels.

I personally can vouch for mine and at least two others. I won't be selling it soon or at the asking price from Marstar. I couldn't build a rifle that performs as well as this for twice the price, once all of the accessories are factored in.

These rifles will shoot better than most shooters can hold. That goes for some very experienced shooters as well.

I just wasted $800 for a AIA number 4 that wont even feed the rounds in the chamber properly. The magazines on these rifle suck! Rounds move forward while they are in the mag and when a round does go through to the chamber the cartridge beneath it moves forward and jams.

I notice that while the B1 carbines and No. 4 Mk. IV's have been in stock all along, the B2 Match has been 'temporarily out of stock' for two-three years now.

Are the mags seated fully? Are you working the bolt smartly or easing it ahead? Have you taken your issue up with the vendor or just #####ed about it on the Internet?

My AIA mags work perfectly in two completely different rifles.

Bearhunter,
AIA rifles in 7.62x39 would sell much better than the 7.62 Nato guns. 10 would go quickly, especially if you could do a mag with 10 rounds or greater capacity.

I have only #####ed about it on the internet so far.

No matter how I try to chamber a round the cartridge hangs up every 3rd shot or so.

The rounds move forward while in the magazine and I have to reef on the bolt to chamber the cartridge and most the time the tip of the round points downward in the mag while pushing the bolt causing a jam.
