Finds in the bush

Last summer my grandfather found 2 meteorites when walking through a newly purchased lot. And yes they were real meteorite, a cousin who is a geologist had a look at them. These things were twice as heavy as they looked, extremely dense. I myself have not found anything good in the bush, just old oil drums, logging equipment, but working as a ride mechanic at Wonderland i have found all kinds of great stuff under the rides. oakley sunglasses, digital cameras, wallets, hats, loose change, but all is returned whenever possible.

Those are extremely valuable

hey, if anyone is hunting up in the windy mountain valley bottom in BC region 5-1 and you find a pair of high end steiner binoculars...... keep em, I lost em about 10 years ago when I was chasin a buck for a kill shot..... heck they might even work still LOL

I'll be up there in two weeks. I'll keep my eyes open.

Found a aluminum boat paddle with plastic handle and plastic blade, was sticking out of a beaver house on the north Saskatchewan river. This was downstream from elk point ab. Grabbed it out of the beaver house. Was stuck in pretty good too.

Works well to this day. Has a bunch of chew marks in it from the beavers.

Found lots of deer sheds.

Once found a goat skeleton in jasper along a trail. Almost looked like it died from the elements, and melted out of the snow. Got a pic somewhere still of that.

Was snowshoeing along river by Edson, found a deer skull/spine/ antlers attached to it. Guessing cougar got it, or coyotes / wolves ran it onto river ice and killed it.

Heading out in a couple days elk hunting. Will be on the lookout for new treasures.

I found some barbaric camp set up in the woods while hunting today. They didn't notice me but I am going to see if they are gone tomorrow and check it out and take pics if I can get close. I really don't think they are hunters.. maybe hippies or escaped mental patients? ;) F'ed if I know, they are way out in the middle of no where too.

A few years ago I was sent out to the middle of nowhere to replace the engine in a piece of logging equipment.
The engine had failed the year before and the machine was left in the forest for the winter.
No one had been there in several months. I took a walk around and found this object sitting on top of the moss.
The moss was several inches deep and the object would have disappeared into it in a couple days so it must have just arrived.
It's a little larger than a golf ball and very light. The only explanation I can come up with for where I found it is that it fell from the sky.
A meteorite?

Last week found an old quad wagon. Not the prettiest unit. But weirdest thing was the huge rock inside the wagon. Then someone made a log bench behind the wagon. On the bench was two more large rocks. Had to guess each rock was at least 200 lbs. someone put a lot of effort into doing this. The steep trail up to the cut line from the river was heavily used. Probably from pulling these rocks uphill with a quad.

Made no sense at all. Wooden bench was fairly new. Best I can figure was geologists fooling around.

Also saw a grave sit from 1995. Must have been ashes that were spread. Last name was olund on the cross.
