Has anyone got or seen a P14 rifle with the fine adjustment rearsight...it is identical to the standard P14 rearsight...except for the addition of a fine vertical adjustment screw...each click on the adjustment screw represents 1 minute of angle or 1 inch at 100 yards.

These sight were apparently only fitted to Winchester made rifles and issued to snipers.

Thanks Badger Dog,....i appreciate you looking up the links to the photo's of your P14 and the sight...I was looking through Ian Skenneraton's book.."The U.S Enfield"..there is a 3 page write up on this sight and one photo.
.I have always been interested in the P 14 rifle....i am of the opinion this rifle never really got the credit it deserved...and only now are MilSurp fans begining to show interest in this very accurate and well made rifle.:canadaFlag:

It is important to note that not all p-14 snipers were fitted or modified for use with optics. I would think that logically, non-optic snipers would be fitted with this improved rear sight.

PS: what is the purpose of the 4 positions of the back sight?

Some also were equipped with the PH "nose knocker" rear sight. The model escapes me right now. "F" sight copies were made up in England some time ago, and do fill the gap until an original shows up. They are around......
See Law's book for a picture of a Canadian Pat. 14 sniper with the PH sight. No fine sight but a Patt. 18 scope, PH rear sight and no "F" sight
