Looking for gun shops that carry some or all of their inventory in higher grade double barrels, new and/or of course used. I'm expecting these will be nearby Toronto but am prepared to be surprised. Had a short list of 2 or 3 places a while back but life distracted me and said list got lost when a hard drive died. Any suggestions gratefully received. I want a gun for upland shooting, not one specialized for skeet or trap.

The gun dealer...Check out there website...I believe they are New Brunswick!
However if your willing to go western Canada Prophet River in Alberta would be my first choice hands down.

Shop online. Broaden your horizons. It will be luck of the draw if any small local shop has what you're looking for.

The three that are most likely to have something:

Elwood Epps
Accuracy Plus
Prophet River

And you might want to keep an eye on Switzer's Auctions, they get decent doubles coming through occasionally.

With a double gun, I shop for fit as much as anything, meaning will it point automatically if quickly mounted to my shoulder. It's the reason, or at least the original reason, why people started buying custom made guns. The only way to test a gun for fit is to handle it. Of course production guns are predictable if the gun hasn't been altered by an owner, so once having handled one I could buy that same model online, so thanks.

Google "Fine Gun Stores, Canada" and then hit "maps" at the top bar... that will give you quite a few options... including the ones mentioned above.

About ten years ago I saw a gorgious high end gun (rifle or shotgun, don't remember) at the gun shop in Tincap, Ont near Brockville.

Anyone familiar with Gagnon Sports in Oshawa? Came across them and they at least catalogue finer grade guns, what do they carry in the store I wonder?

So many great places in the USA, most often in the South, sometimes I hate that border being there.

I've done lots of business with them... good folks... the gun room guys are all shooters and know what they are talking about.

Gagnon Sports is a nice place. Very knowledgeable and a decent collection of arms. They always seem to be helpful and have always been able to order in stuff for me when needed. They also seem to have a great relationship with Stoeger Canada who are about 5 mins away

The guns Stephen Milton builts are extrordinary! World class really. Last time I was at his shop, he had half a dozen on display. I think most of the guns he builds goes stateside.

Have a look at some of these masterpieces. Some of Stephens guns are engraved by a local engraver named Vlad Kalandyrets. The work is world class and Stephens guns are a masterpiece
