Once every 2 years I build a walnut stock for a rifle I have. This time its for my T1x.

Life got in the way, and when we finally had a CRPS match in NS I got my butt into gear to "finish" it with a single coat of stain and win the comp. I then finally did the rest of the oil + waxing and just took a few pics of it today.
Mag base, cheek riser, and buttstock are all designed and 3D printed by me. Mag release made by me in Aluminum.

day 1

3d printing done

mag release made and pseudo-anodized.

3D model of the entire action

test fit in a literal 2x4

CNC'd inletting

90% carved

competition day:

photo taken today right before sundown

Very impressive!

Thanks everyone. This year I may try and find something with a bit of figure and do something for my Ruger American - the biggest thing is figuring out the magazine system.

Nice work! Saw the 5th photo and wondered about the "walnut"...lol

Beauty of a job, maybe I'll send you a nice hunk of walnut... :)

Nice work.

Did you have to model it or is it something that is allready shared, also what's type of machine is the stock sitting in and was it used for all the shaping?

post 1 - i modelled and programmed it myself. Tikka doesnt share anything
A Haas TM2 but anything can be used
Only the inlet. I hand carved everything that doesn't touch metal.

Sure! Anytime Santa ;)

You are obviously an excellent craftsman and wood worker Jahn. If you are Dutch, it's no surprise, never met a dutchman who wasn't an excellent wood worker.

My Dad (deceased), who was from Almelo, Holland was an incredible craftsman and woodworker, as well as a great finishing carpenter.

Again, beautiful work!......:)

A lot of people file share online these days when it comes to 3d printing and other auto cad stuff.... I would not expect Tikka or any manufacturer to release their files.

It sure transforms the look of the rifle!

yes, but a lot of the sites are against anything firearm. I had my models removed from Cults after making over $300 in sales!
