Finished Stevens 44 1/2in 38-55 and 22

I put my Stevens 44 1/2 together with the 22 barrel to try it out today. I still have to out more coats of oil on the stock but I am curious to see how it works. I think i will by an MVA tang sight for it as the original sight probably won’t go high enough for longer range shooting. The barrels are Ron Smith Gain twist, the rimfire breach block is from CPA. I made the spirit level sights, stock, blued and casehardened it.

Very nice work, I had a Ballard in 38/55, never did find a 44 1/2 Gun.
I use have a long range sight I got from a dealer in Winnipeg 30 yrs ago.
It had a Marlin, and steven bases .

Wish I had taken more pictures in the past.
 
The beauty of smart phones it is really easy to take pictures now. I set up a web site so I have a place to organize pictures of my projects. Overtime I think it will be nice to look back at the projects.
