Anyone have info on these or what they are worth.

Looks like a fancy octogan mosin etc. And have heard only like 30,000 were made versus the millions of mosin's be nice to truly know

I have one trying to get info or a average selling price

Thanks in advance

It's worth anywhere from $50 to $800. You need to provide a LOT more info. For starters, what makes you think it's Civil Guard? Not all finnish mosins are CG guns.

Almost all Finish guns have hex receivers, it's actually the round receiver finn guns that bring higher prices.

Pictures and a far better description would help.

-matching bolt?
-bore condition?
-import marked?
-counter-bored?
-condition?
-markings?
-refurbed or not?
-Maker/model?

Still have yet to figure out uploading pics on here.

And as far as a gaurd rifle only what I was told. And why I'm asking here.

Well if you can't get pics to work or answer the above questions, I doubt you will get a useful answer to your question. Sorry.

To help you a bit, you do need to clarify what model, the rest can be speculated on (in terms of a rough general value).

Octagonal receiver means next to nothing as mentioned, mainly because every receiver made before roughly 1936 was octagonal. The Finns used tons of pre-1936 receivers to build the various models they used and or refurbished. I don't know why many people freak out about those receivers, just something people have been told to look for I guess, even though it doesn't mean much either way.

To help the length of the gun will tell a fair bit in terms of model. Going off the top of my head the main model the Finns used were the M91s (mainly the Infantry version though there was some Dragoons and Cossacks as well) these are very long and will have a curved rear sights which is relatively flimsy looking. Then there is the M24s, M27s, M28s, M28/30s, and M39s as well. There are plenty of other minor variations, but you should be able to narrow it down to model with google with that information. From there we can give a rough price valuation and what to look for.

D-Leach: M24 "Lotta Rifle". I believe these were Finlands first "manufactured" M91's. Two sources of barrels, Bohler-Stahl and Sig. As you can see, they reused old Russian receivers. The stepped barrel (near the muzzle) reflects the larger diameter barrel used by the Finns in an attempt to improve the M91. If the bore is in good shape it may be a tremendous shooter. I have 3 Lottas and have payed widely different amounts for them recently. I would say it's probably worth $600.00 if bore is very good? Curious to hear what other Finn collectors say. Nice rifle!
