I have had someone offer to sell me what I think is a Finnish M27, M28 or M29 bayonet - just based on pictures and a “Hackman & c2” stamp. The owner does not know what it is. I do notice an “s” marking on it which google tells me may make it a civil guard m28? It was not the bayonet I wanted from this fellow but he sold the one I was after and then showed me this one. I have never run across one before. In moderate condition with a metal sheath what are these kinds of bayonets roughly worth here?

If any experts want a pic I can email.

Thanks!

You are looking at a $250+ bayonet on Ebay.

All m28 bayonets are civil guard. There is a difference between m28 and m28, largely in how the scales are attached. Lots of online references out there to read.

The s proof means likely m28

Ya it’s definitely an m28 based on the grip rivets after a bit more online reading. Given the fellow ended up wanting to sell it cheap I picked it up for the man cave wall. They look like neat bayonets.

I have what looks to be a 1928-30 bayo made by hackman&co but it is marked SKY above the maker. Also has an S stamped into the guard. I have the frog with it and it is in fine shape with nice flame wood grips. I’ll try to add some pics later as I’d like to know what its worth.

Pics up: Is it a 28-30? What is it worth in this condition? I do not have the leather keeper for the frog.
