I'm having a hard time to find one on the EE, there is one listed in one place...which is not a sponsor here, so no names, but the rifle listed there suppose to be a rare kind. Yet at $995...I don't think it's realistic marker of the market value for the average M91. So, what's the going price for the Finnish M91 those days? Apart from that, I'm looking now at very nice, matching example made in the 1940s, with clean bore, good looking wood (two piece stock), barrel is D stamped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

To me, a thousand bucks is way too much to pay for a Mosin Nagant, even a Finnish M91. I have noticed that the word "RARE" seems to be being used a lot more frequently these days, in EE posts that have a high price tag on them.

I had two Mosin-Nagants on the table at a recent gun show, and a Finnish captured, SA marked one with a sling and bayonet had a $350 price on it. Lots of lookers, but it came home with me at the end of the show.

I also had a fairly nice Mosin Nagant, 1934 dated, but also with a 1952 date ( double dated) and a "MO" stamp on the barrel. With it was a Polish MO marked helmet with the MO and Polish Eagle on it. The price was $375, and a lot wanted the helmet by itself, but it was going to go with the rifle. It also came home with me.

While the Mosin Nagants have gone up in price, I am of the opinion that a reasonable price for most is in the $300-$400 range, with some of the really scarce or (I will use the words "rarer models" are worth a bit more.

In my opinion a fin MN at this price level should be made in 1920-1927 at list by Tikka. They are really rare. Production in couple of years count maximum 10000 units.

I picked up a Finnish m91/30 a couple years ago for 400$
The stock leaves something to be desired. Id really like an M39 but from what Ive seen everyone wants too much for it.

Depends on condition but a decent Finn M91 should be in around $375-$475,..here.. However Finn mosins are relatively low in numbers as far as production is concerned...The value will only go up over time..

The Finn M91 rifles I've seen at gun shows sell anywhere from $350-$600. It's all about originality and condition.

An early unmessed with Finn M91 in excellent condition can be a rare bird. Most of them show a lot of use and wear. Then, if they've had new barrels and stocks installed, it will depend on who installed the barrel/stock and other markings on the rifle.

I have a lovely M91 in excellent condition that looks minty inside and out. The barrel was replaced by Tikka. I've never shot it. I've also been offered $600 for it. I'm going to hold onto it for a while.

I also have one each Westinghouse and Remington M91 rifles with SA markings. One has a two piece stock and the other a one piece Walnut stock. They both have 90%+ bores and they both shoot my handloads better than I can hold. I see similar rifles at the shows in the $450 range. They seldom go home with the vendors.

OP, if you want a good one but insist on a DEAL, you might be waiting for a long time. Back in the day I was lucky enough to be able to pick through several to find the specimens I have. Most were in Good only or less condition. Excellent condition specimens are few and far between IMHO.

I have an 1897 Finn Mosin that I paid $800 for 2 years ago. It's a rare bird in a very early year that looks good and shoots well. Overall I think I overpaid by a little but given there are limited rifles around, the old girl will hold her value and slowly increase as the supply dries up.

Even a "new" barrel doesn't mean much...lots of counter-bored finn made barrels, and that's due use not manufacturing issue...(VKT-"D" ...finn made, and finn used!)

What do you want in the end? A finn ("captured" is a rough term...finns "captured" a whack of them, and also purchased a whack of them. I dunno how to discern between...) In lore a Finn reworked mosin should be better than it's equivalent in "red hands" counter part, but in numbers produced alone, they are cool.

Rifle, or providence? I'll jump on bearhunter's tails...a Mosin is a Mosin until it isn't..
