I purchased an original SVT-40 mag from a private seller that it is a Finnish non-refurb one with only one serial number and with a boxed SA stamping on it in excellent condition, Are these hard to find or come by? Anybody else seen one before?

Is it marked 303 on the side, near the bottom probably? Have a semi-circular small bit ground out in the front feed path? That would be a modified by GlobCo Mohawk 555 mag. in .303 British (still works in 7,62x54R).

Of course they're hard to find. But I don't really know any SVT magazine collectors; the real prize would be the rifle.

[EDIT - Okay, I have a mag. collection, including Soviet re-furbs, an un-molested Finn, Globe in full length and cut down, and modern reproductions. But I bought the guns, too.]

No markings other than one serial number, a few Russian manufacturer stamps and the Finnish Boxed SA. The feed path and mag in general is stock standard and not modified.

Let me introduce myself - I am an SVT magazines collector. Though those damn dealers tend to sell mags only with rifles... not like I need those rifles...

The SA rifles are a subset of SVT rifles. Men died with those rifles in their hands. There was a limited quantity ever, and Century reduced that number when they converted 7.62x54R rifles to .303BR. Any SA marked rifle, magazine, bayonette or accessory would be desirable by an SVT collector - if only to complete a set.

Here are some pictures of the Mag -

I have found out the mag follower was modified to allow 5 rounds only in this mag instead of the usual pinning/riveting, was this also common back in the day these rifles were imported? It does look a lot better than a rivet and does the same job.
