Here's my P7 as I received it. Not sure what to make of the black ring around the striker. ?carbon staining vs touch-up.

There is a bit of wear/blueing loss at the superior-posterior aspect of the grip.

hard chrome? really? keep it as is... If you are really dead set on refinishing it have it re-blued to look original. You can have the same brush marks reapplied and it will look awesome.

Just an FYI, TacOrd can do the "HK Black" cerakote, I found the mixture online, and I'm sure Peter can figure it out.

Peter would be my choice also & they have had armourer training in these pistols & know them intimately ...

Thanks for all the responses. I think I will leave it as is and put the $$ towards ammo..for now...haha

Just out of curiosity....what do these p7 models go for these days? I picked this up from a site vendor on an impulse...couldnt find any on the EE to conpare pricing

Satin finish hard chrome looks great.

This.

I bought mine from a gentleman in the US (via GunBroker and IRunGuns), who had already done all the work to it...hard-chromed with a polished finish on flat surfaces and satin on rounded surfaces, and Nill walnut grips. I was going to get it engraved with my fiancee's name and our wedding date and give it to her as a wedding present, but we broke up before that happened...now it's a safe queen.

Came with 4 mags, 2 of which were also hard-chromed and polished...so I bought 2 more and sent them off with the 2 other ones, to the place in the US that did the previous work (Ford's Guns in Florida) and now have 6 that match.

Also came with the original grips, a holster, the H&K case, manual, cleaning tool and disassembly tool.

It looks gorgeous, see for yourself.

Also, from an engineering standpoint...IIRC hard chrome is one of the toughest finishes you can put on a gun. I'm not big on polished, but on this gun it's a nice contrast. The satin hard-chrome finish looks great without being obnoxious.
