New to this site ! Very enjoyable reading.
My question is:
In the case of legal & licenced Animal Damage Control Work
In a city where discharging a firearm is prohibited,
Would the use of a Bang Stick device, That does not fire a projectile, bolt, or any substance other than concusion, BE legal to use to dispatch wildlfe in restraint devices or cages, as opposed to blunt force ?
If I read it properly a firearm is considered a firearm ONLY if it fires a projectile of any sort .Would this be considered a firearm ? Right or Wrong?

Consult your city bylaws- each place is different (as in call a bylaw officer). Each place is different so all we can do is offer opinions.....
A captive bolt is NOT a firearm, but I'm not sure that is what you are calling a 'bang stick'.

Thanks for the replies fellows ,Jay : A bang stick is a shark repellant device fired under water.
Use of course would be subject to police views on this subject ; Thanks

Consult local bylaws.
As far as I know wildlife control, much like cops, are exemp from most discahrge bylaws as long as they are carrying out their duty.

Another smart thing to do would be to notify the local police and give them a date and time. We have done this before because we didn't want to be taken down because someone saw a couple of guys in a grocery store with an air gun;)
