Firearms Canada Scam or not?

Good catch, I am actually going to attempt to pursue this further, not sure how I missed that as I did an image search in google.

I 100% expected it to be a scam, for all the reasons listed above, but I am sick and tired of scammers.

Does the guy have a Canadian contact point, or is he trying to sell from the USA to Canada ??

Likely scammer will try to get a potential buyer to pay with Western Union or Moneygram money wire transfer. That is the scam, to entice with a "too good to be true" deal then get someone to wire real money.

Personally, due to the scammers frequenting same, I wouldn't buy off that site.

Had a guy a few months ago with a Python for sale on that site. He sent me some pics and it just happened by chance that I was surfing some gun sites in the USA and came upon the same pics. I emailed him back and asked him if he still had the gun and of course he said he did. Said I had a few more questions...............as to why he was using pics for a gun that was on another website.

I never heard from him again.

Last summer I know for a fact that there were several guys that I know, were taken in and sent money only to never see a firearm in return. The really bad thing is that the police are of absolutely no help. They just told them it's buyer beware on the internet.

It would be nice to have an escrow service for guns in this country, but of course that
would only add to the transaction costs and I hate to even consider the legal hoops one would have to jump through to set up such a service.
But it sure would cut down on the scammers.

One guy tried to get me to use the Walmart money transfer service... what an Idiot!

In the past 2 years I have sold in excess of $10,000 on Firearms Canada, a few times I provided references, but mostly they just trusted me. Maybe I missed my calling and should have been a con man, but seriously there are a lot of very gulible people out there, and when something is 1/2 price they just got to have it no matter what. A shrewd buyer can usually pick out a phoney ad, like one I inquired about, a S&W 629 Stealth Hunter, lists at Epps for over $1700, was being sold as nib for $960.00, asked why it was for sale and where it was so I could have a look at it, actually asked 3 times got no reply so I reported him. It the old addage fellows, " let the buyer beware", the next time you see a too good to be true ad, ask where the item can be viewed, no response?, report it! Firearms Canada announced last year that they were going to enact a "feedback system" like Ebay etc, If they do not soon get it in place they will be a haven for the dishonest even more so than now.

Wal-Mart uses Moneygram. Moneygram is a legit company. There are > 150,000 Moneygram outlets worldwide. All the scammer needs is the MTCN [money transfer control number] unique to the transaction to pickup the money anywhere there is an outlet. You think you are wiring money to Mr. X in Toronto and the real Mr. X picks it up in Las Vegas. :D

i picked up a sopmod from firearms canada last month. took the guy 3 weeks to ship it but it was a fake one. confirmed it with scott from questar. it wouldn't fit on my milspec stock. sent an email to the admin and the seller was banned immediately but still lost my money...

firearms canada scam or not

be carefull buying there,I sent money for a gun and never heard from The guy again and that was 2 month ago, stick with gunnutz and check trader ratings.

You can ask the seller to do the CFC transfer before you send money. Gun gets into your name, so you know the deal is legit. Seller can hold the gun until he gets his money, and if you don't send money, he can cancel the transfer and get it back in his name.

Not something I'd want to go through, but if you are suspicious its something you could suggest.

Same thing happened to me. Also said that because he had to ship it to me that he would only accept money order and not EMT. What does that have to do with how I pay:confused:

Other thing is that the guy was really pushy. I emailed him for some pics and then again to ask a question. Kept going on about that I needed to send him my PAL number and when was I going to send the money. I never ever told him I wanted it.

I look at the ads on Firearms.com but likely will never try and buy anything off that site again. Prefer the peace of mind with the EE and it's trader rating. Have seen a few things on here that I wouldn't mind but when they have 0 trader rating, I stay away unless it is a relatively inexpensive item and I don't mind taking the chance.

Well, another scammer is there.
Now he's selling a Prohibited Gen 3 Glock 23 for $590.00 from Sidney Nova Scotia.

His nick is grclauded

As for handguns or restricted rifles, I will never purchase them online.
I would only buy from the dealer after I "personally" handled and inspected
the beasty. If I want a goody bad enough, I get my favorite local dealer to
order it in. The wait is worth it in the long run.
