My wife snivels a bit about such things as well. She doesn't even like me shooting my Webley Tempest or the P08 BB gun at cardboard targets, with a catcher, in the basement. The impacts on the cardboard can be quite loud/annoying.
The real problems/complaints come from my Jack Russell.
OP, I really like the 7-08 and have always been curious about the AI version. From the info I've found, there seems to be little if any real difference between the parent case and the AI case as far as performance is concerned.
I fireform a lot of cases for different rifles, especially antique or a few wildcats.
I find that COW, by itself just doesn't blow out the case enough to fully fireform it, so I use wax plugs about a quarter inch (5mm) thick, in the case neck, with about 5 grains of HS6 with a bit of saran wrap over it, then topped up to the neck with COW.
It's just enough to fully fireform the case and the wax/cow residue just brushes out easily.
