Fireformed 303 brass into 410 casings with pics

For some people there would be more fun involved with making it than buying it.

I just aquired my mother's 410 and I have some 303 shells and probably have a mould around the right size.

Please tell me you are going to use this beyond 7 yard shots... Go pattern at 20If anyone was wondering how they patterned this is a comparison of a reload with a winchester 2 1/2 buckshot
Jason, what are you using to 'glue' the balls in? I had good luck using candle-wax to stick shot charges in 12 ga wads.
Ya, I just lit the candle and tipped it over the shells; but sensible people might not want open flames on their loading bench.

I hope your shotguns handle gas from split brass real good.Because it can and will happen.The base on the 303 brass is too small IT WILL BURST.Use 444 brass it's the perfect size.

I would love this as a goofing off in the afternoon camping thing. We usually use .22's and a 12 gauge to hunt our empty cans but this would be quiet"ish" and maybe more fun.

It looks like a barrel that got plugged with something near the muzzle and was fired with a heavy shot or buckshot load. That blew the tube apart.
You can still see the front sight on the barrel.

If you own a .44 mag revolver you can make shotshell rounds by the same method using .303 british brass. The only difference is you have to shave the rim down a little bit to fit and cut the brass to about 1/8" shorter than your revolvers cylinder length. I put 5 grn of Unique and then put a cardboard disk over top of the power and then fill the rest of the case with #9 shot and on the top I put another cardboard disk and glue it around the sides with white glue to keep everything together. Blew peoples mind at the gun range when I shot 4 for 6 clay targets from the launcher with a .44 mag revolver. lol
Interesting thread. I've been playing with fun buckshot loads with my 410 as well.
I bought and was given about 100 used 444 brass. I stripped 12ga 00 buckshot rounds for the buckshot. I put large pistol primers in the 444 cases, 00 buckshot, and wads made from 1/8 inch cork gasket. The top wad is 1/8 cork gasket sealed with orange fingernail polish. I bought a hollow punch set to make my wads and 7/16 works perfect. Just a little bit bigger than the inside diameter of the 444 case so there's a good seal.
The next batch I will use 000 buckshot and meat tray styrafoam as my cushion wad above a couple of cork wads.
