Firing 2 3/4" shells out of longer chambers - help?

I was having this same debate with myself a wile back, I solved this problem by buying a benelli nova, wich will feed and fire all 2 3/4" to 3.5". So far my impression is its like the glock of the shotgun world, not pritty but it works. It has a hard chrome lined barrel, for extra chamber protection
