firing pin for a 1911

I just received a brand new firing pin for my norinco 1911 from ebay and it has a few rust spots on it. Should I return it or can I just sand it down and use it anyways? I am not too impressed with the seller.

Steel wool and some WD40 if it's light rust stains. If it's pitting, send it back!

Chuck it in a hand drill and spin it with some steel wool....
