Firing Pin Movement

I cleaned my SKS and have it back together now. I could no get the bolt apart. I sprayed some cleaner/lubricant and worked the firing pin back and forth. If I shake the bolt hard the firing pin will move.

Any possible saftey issues with that?
 
It's a floating firing pin. Standard on most milsurp rifles.

The only safety issue COULD be a slamfire, but that can only really happen if you chamber a round manually and drop the bolt. Stripping a round off the MAG slows the bolt enough so that it shouldn't slamfire.

Don't chamber a round manually, and you should be fine. However, always make sure it's pointed in a safe direction before loading at ANY time.
 
Coke?

Are you ON coke? That's a bad idea. Sugar water shouldn't be relied upon to clean anything.

Seriously dude... just get some Brake Cleaner (non-chlorinated), and spray it allll over. That will fix it good.

That will only gum up the bolt, least worst scenario.
Keep soft drinks well away from your firearms :p .
I used Hopps #9 to clean my bolt, I let it sit over night to get the cosmoline out of it and it works flawlessly now.
But like stated before, make sure your pointing her in a safe direction, those free floating fireing pins can still set off a soft cased primer even after stripping it from the magazine.
There have been cases of commercial ammunition slamfireing after the bolt strikes them so be extra carefull.
Otherwise enjoy your sks to the fullest, dont run over it with a bulldozer, and clean it after eastern bloc ammo, and it will love you long time.
