firing pin springs / buffer assy

AR noob questions

1) Does the 223/5.56 AR have a firing pin spring (a spring that slides over the actual firing pin - some diagrams show a spring over the pin but Im not sure if this is only for the 9mm carbine)?

2) When you change the standard A2 stock to a Magpul PRS does the black plastic spacer that is in the buffer tube have to go back in with the PRS (when I changed mine the PRS wont fit up to the gun when the spacer is inserted)?

Only if you have the HK 416
The gas impingement AR15s have no firing pin spring. The AR10 does.
