So After really enjoying my .22 LR the other weekend I'm looking at getting my first 17 HMR. I was looking at the savage 93R17GV-XP I prefer the wood stocks myself does anyone own one or know of a better place to buy one as i'm not a huge fan of wholesalesports but the price seems pretty good.

I looked at it when I was buying mine. It was a nice one but I wanted stainless and all that was around was plastic stock but im okay with that because it doesnt matter if it gets dinged up a bit. Now wood imho looks like crap when its dinged up

Got a decent deal on mine at Frontier Firearms.

Optics are from Mystic Precision.

Shoots like a damn!

Thanks guys I'll check Frontier I've always preferred a wood stock especially for a gun like this I just think it looks a bit more classic and weight isn't an issue at all. I can't wait to compare this with my 10/22 it looks like a great round from everything I've read and seen on youtube.

You might want to check Ellwood Epps as well (banner at the top of the page). They usually have a good selection of Savage rifles and descent prices. I picked up a Savage 93R17 TRR-SR from them this summer at a good price.
