For one i think for the money, the SAM pistol is incredible ( it made a believer out of me after the first 250 rounds tru it )... JP.
 
I bought a Kimber 1911 (just a rimfire target), and i was very impressed with the look and feel of it. Been shooting it for three years and have not had a single issue. They are a bit more pricey though ( i paid 1100 for mine). Now if only i could find some effing .22lr stinger ammo for it that would be great! I would not hesitate to buy another Kimber if I decide i want a 1911 in its native caliber. If you do buy a Kimber in .45 they have .22lr conversion kits available too:)
 
I know it's not in your list but prophet river has colt 1991a1s for $1050. I just got mine the other day and I gotta say my sr1911 might be EE bound to fund another "pony" gun and the pr guys are second to none IMHO
