Just ordered an H001L (https://www.henryusa.com/rifles/lever-action-22-carbine-rifle/) from Cabelas. Saw it in stock a few other places but looks like someone else snagged them over the last 24 hours.

Wanted something that wasn't semi-auto (for teaching kids). Wanted something that was accurate, that would be fun for me to shoot, and that they could grow into as well. The forums here helped a lot narrowing it down and I don't think I'll be disappointed. Now for the wait for it to be delivered.

I like every aspect of Henry’s rifle/carbine in 22lr calibre, except the rear sight.
The buckhorn is really finicky.
You would be better off with small game carbine which has skinner peep sight.
I have golden boy which also has buckhorn, I decided to take it off and mounted a low power riflescope (4x max), it feels much better now.
It’s difficult to add a peep sight now because those actions are not drilled

Awesome choice! I bought one of these as my very first rifle. I disagree with the comments about the sights and have always managed to get really nice accuracy. I used to enjoy shooting mine with my kid too - you can pump the lever fast enough to do things like bounce a target ball or shoot a can so it keep moving, but there is a feeling of deliberateness and control you dont get from an automatic.

I love mine.

I can hit a 3" steel plate every time from 50 yard using the original buckhorn rear sight. But my eyes are just soaring after doing it for a prolonged period.
If you look through a skinner peep sight, you will never look back.
Small game carbine chamber in 22lr will be a better choice, it basically has almost all the same features plus a peep rear sight. That's what I am looking for but it's sold out everywhere
