First 250 round with my new Tavor

The Israeli Army got their ass kicked in the 2006 Israel–Hezbollah War.
Show me a war that this rifle has performed well in that has lasted for
more than a couple weeks.

Sooooo by that logic all variants of an ar15 and all m14 are also shiat (the usa lost the vietnam war), all german made guns are also shiat, and the ak47 (saddam's iraq) and ak74(russia in aghanistan) are all shiat?

Stop it with the nonsense...

Why are you even on these boards? Post some facts about the rifle and your credibility might go up a Notch. You can be an Israeli hater that's fine, but at least post something intelligent about the rifle.

Ive spent a 2nd day with my Tavor and like it even more now. Another 250 rounds or so and not a single issue. Not an FTE, FTF or stovepipe, light strike... nothing. I used more of the cheap norinco and about 60 rounds of better, but still cheap, American Eagle. All 55g. The results at 50 yards are definitely more than adequate and the lightened trigger made a WORLD of difference.
By 2 best groups out of the 8 or so I shot at 50 yards:

Moving out to 100 yards yielded the results I was expecting. Groups opened up to about 3-4 inches. I shot a couple 4 round groups in the 2 inch range but had a 5th flier that ruined them. This was all 55g and the best groups did come from the AE ammo. It was also VERY windy... I dont read wind so I have no idea HOW windy, but it was blowing up dust off the ground. Im not going to say I think this was responsible for the larger groups, but it didnt help. Im also using only a 4X scope. I know some of you can shot 1 inch groups with a red dot. I cant do that. Not with any gun let alone this one. At some point id like to put a 12X optic on it (or something like that) and see how much better I can do. Until then, here are my 2 best 100 yard groups:

So the question I had to ask myself was: Is this good enough? Its definitely not as good as my buddies brand new 18 inch Stag with a heavy fluted barrel and feather touch trigger pull. However, I think in for the purpose of this gun... what it was designed to do and what i want to do with it, these results ARE good enough. Basically, if you want a long range gun... 100+ yards. Look elsewhere. Its not a difficult concept. If you want a 75 yard gun... this one makes an effective choice.

Decent but all you need is more time on the trigger. I have a really decent target with a 4x optic. 5/5 shot groups at 100, allowing for some barrel cooling off bench with norc but I can't post it from my phone. Ill post it tomorrow. Decent groups are achievable.

Oh really?

I guess you don't use AR-15's then, since 'Murica lost (Viet) 'Nam. And since Afghanistan and Iraq were only draws so far with no conclusive result. The only full scale war they clearly won was the Desert Storm of '91...but that wont count since that wasnt a rifleman's war at all...missiles tanks, arty rockets, jets and laser bombs.

The proof of a rifle from battle/war isnt whether the war was won or lost...its whether the troops are willing to keep carrying it. Or if they are screaming for modifications or outright replacement. its performance during that war resulted in more widespread adoption among the troops. And in the later skirmish in Gaza, the Tavor was singled out as being stellar in MOUT ops.

I'm going to bring my 2 boxes of 69 grain sierras next time I go to the range, I'll let you know how they do at 100m, I'm also using an excellent 4x scope so it'll be comparable.
I`ve had some crazy fliers at 100 yards with my 55 grain federal that I wont even post a picture here since I`m so embarrassed.
